So since its been a long time between writing this blog and Part 1, I’m going to write from the perspective of how I remember it now as compared with reading my journal.
As I look back, the impression it has left on me isn’t very different from how I felt when I got back. I remember saying I would go back tomorrow and the truth is I still would. This trip was very brief only lasting four days, but from what I saw of it I would definitely like to do a longer trip. I’m not sure if it’s my calling and if you’ve read my previous post..Do I have a specific purpose? What’s my calling Lord?..You’d know that I’m not to sure what my purpose is apart from ministering where I am at any given time. So it was great getting the insight into this area.
We started everyday with prayer and devotionals, it was a great experience in that we had the opportunity to lead our own topics on what the Lord had put on our hearts. We hardly knew each other and felt comfortable to be transparent with each other.
Throughout the days we learnt new ways of communicating with the people and formed bonds with the Georgian church and the Georgian Christian Fellowship International Church. We had a chance to share our testimonies and take part in their traditional service, it was a beautiful experience.
Looking back on it, I can remember seeing Gods love moving in the hearts of the people we were ministering to. As we shared our personal testimonies people were beginning to understand the freedom that you can have in Christ and as we prayed over them they seemed grateful.
The experience as whole continues to remind me that we can’t put God in a box. We can’t predict his next move and it’s great that we can’t. I love the way he surprises us, He continues to break boundaries and even though things seem difficult they simply aren’t because he promises to take you through it all and he always does, as long as you hold onto him.
Also this experience woke me up to see that we need to reach out to people and work in our communities, not saying that it’s always easy to do but as long we try that’s what will make people know the Love of God.
Hope this gives you a little insight into missionary work, God bless!
