Patience. Trust. Perseverance.

August 2016,

So you’ve been praying and God gives you the answer you been waiting for, now what? What’s next?

Have you been getting frustrated at how long it’s taking to get an answer? Well this is what I’ve been going through. God has been teaching me to be patient in all things, and in this I’m learning how to get through the areas of limbo in my life. Not knowing quite where I’m heading or what I’m doing can be troubling to say the least and can make you look like you haven’t got your life sorted out.

I’m not quite where I want to be in life, I’m learning to be content in this place and to be grateful for what God has given me. I always have that little voice saying “Some people don’t even have what you have” and that’s the dose of reality that I need. God reminds me that life could be a whole lot worse, of course there are areas in life that we’d all like to improve on but God knows your desires and trust me they’re on his mind too.

“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭37:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

So after receiving the answers I was seeking, I began to wonder when all of this is going to take place. I always thought I wasn’t a control freak but this opened up a new can of worms. I wanted to know how and when everything would happen and most of all what am I going to do between now and then?! So I came to the conclusion that this was a test of patience, trust, and perseverance. So if you’re going through the same transition don’t worry you’re not alone. God is making you over and building your character day by day. Patience isn’t easy for all of us so don’t beat yourself up!

The power of the Holy Spirit working inside of us is what makes this possible. We can’t do anything in our own strength, it’s with God’s power that we are able. So surrender to him on a daily basis, repent and remember that God gives us the grace and strength to do his will.

“being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God is calling you into a deeper level of intimacy, that means harder tests and longer waiting periods. It doesn’t sound fun but the break through is all worth it, not just for you but also for his glory! Deeper levels may mean spending more time in the presence of God, quiet time, prayer and worship.

Trusting God is hard especially for those (like me) who want to be in control, just let go (I know it’s hard) and remember he knows exactly what he’s doing. Peace and blessings.
