Easter Monday: Refelction

A grey and rainy Easter Monday but equally just as beautiful as a sunny day. It’s a new season and stepping into Spring is always refreshing, but as life moves forwards I’ve been reminded to look back and reflect.

Life changing decisions were in place and going forward, but God stopped them and I was quite confused. Even though I don’t see the whole picture, I feel confident that He knows best. These past few months have felt heavy, like I’ve been striving to live as a Christian, now I’m not saying it’s supposed to be easy but it’s not supposed to feel like a chore.

Quiet time wasn’t flowing as it used to and as I look back and see things that I’ve overcome, I realise that the deeper I want to go the harder it’s going to get. If you are struggling and striving don’t feel condemned, you are not alone. Jesus said you will have troubles..

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

John 16:33 NIV

Going into this new season with God, I’m hoping to apply everything that He has taught me in the previous one. We know that He never gives us more than we can handle, so take it as a compliment if it’s hard. Remember He is your strength and understands how you feel.

Prayer against guilt

Father thank you that all can come to you, you never turn away from us. Thank you for knowing us, every thought, word and deed. Lord I ask for strength in this trial and for peace, knowing that you hold my future in your hands, you always know what’s best for me even when it doesn’t make sense.

I thank you that I am clothed in strength and dignity and can laugh without fear of the future, for you walk with me. I pray for your peace to overshadow every fear and I hold onto the promise that you have overcome the world. Amen
